Get Ready for Laser Season
We still have a little bit of summer left, which means laser season is right around the corner! If you are scheduled for one of our amazing laser treatments, please be sure to follow a few of our helpful tips to ensure you get the best treatment possible:
No sun exposure for 4-6 weeks before and after your treatment.
Discontinue use of all retinol products 3-5 days prior to your scheduled appointment. We also ask that you refrain from use of sunless tanners for a minimum of 5 days prior to your scheduled appointment.
If you have a history of cold sores or a diagnosis of HSV, you will need a prescription for prophylaxis prior to the procedure. Call our office and we’d be happy to help you with a prescription.
If you have an active cold sore for your appointment, your visit will need to be rescheduled.
Facelift
(aka ‘lower face and neck lift’, ‘deep plane face and neck lift’)
Repositions the deep tissues of the mid/lower face and neck, restoring youthfulness and improving definition. Incisions are placed in front and behind the ears, as well as one hidden under the chin to allow for the most comprehensive rejuvenation.
Minilift
(aka lower facelift, deep plane facelift)
Lifts and repositions the deeper tissues of the mid/lower face thorough incisions placed around the ears and along the hairline. It is less invasive than a full lower facelift, without the incision under the chin or anterior deep neck contouring.
Necklift
(aka structure neck lift, deep neck lift)
Rejuvenates and re-contours the neck and jawline by addressing deeper muscles, fat pads, and or glandular tissue of the neck. An incision is placed under the chin, with or without incisions behind the ear or along the hairline
All of these procedures have a social downtime (bruising/swelling) of 1-2 weeks with the ability to return to the gym after just 2 weeks. BUSTING BOTOX MYTHS
Botox is often misunderstood, surrounded by myths that can deter people from considering it as a safe and effective treatment. Additionally, some believe Botox is toxic or unsafe, when in reality, it’s FDA-approved and has been safely used in both cosmetic and medical treatments for decades. Busting these myths helps people make informed choices based on facts, not fear. Read below on some of the most common Botox myths that we hear!
1. Botox is Permanent – Botox typically lasts around 3-4 months, so it’s temporary and needs repeat treatment to maintain results.
2. Botox and Fillers Are the Same – They serve different purposes. Botox relaxes muscles to reduce wrinkles, while fillers add or restore lost volume to areas like cheeks, lips, the chin and jawline.
3. Botox Results Are Immediate — Botox results are seen gradually over a few days, with full effects being seen about 2 weeks after injections. Plan your treatment accordingly!
4. Botox Can Erase All Wrinkles — Botox is most effective at softening dynamic wrinkles, which are caused by muscle movement. It cannot eliminate all wrinkles!
5. Stopping Botox Treatment Will Make You Look Older — Botox will prevent your wrinkles from worsening when you keep up with your treatments. If you decide to stop treatments, you will slowly lose the muscle relaxing effects of Botox and will resume the normal development of wrinkles with facial movement. Your wrinkles will slowly return to how they were initially, prior to treatment.
